Functionary Responsibilities

Successful meetings require a team effort

Members in a functionary position are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the meeting.

If you are unable to fulfill your role, please inform your Team Leader (either the Toastmaster or the General Evaluator) and the VP of Education, Jerry Chapman, by phone at (314) 968-0595 or by email. Member contact information is listed on the roster page accessible from above*.

The Toastmaster is responsible for contacting the Invocator, Table Topics Master and speakers one week before our meeting to confirm the individuals assigned to the roles will be at the meeting. Roster Link*

The General Evaluator is responsible for contacting his/her evaluation team (the Grammarian, the Timer, and each Speech Evaluator) one week before the meeting to confirm the individuals assigned to the roles will be at the meeting. Roster Link*

SPEAKERS: If your speech will exceed 10 minutes, please inform Jerry Chapman at least one week prior to your speech. Please prepare a speech introduction and give it to the Toastmaster on the day of your speech.

Any club member interested in having your name listed as a Pocket Speaker (prepared to give speech on a moment's notice) on the schedule, please inform the VP of Education.
